There are many ways to get involved with environmental activities at UT Knoxville! Browse the list below and see where you can help.

This student volunteer program is designed to increase environmental awareness and promote green living in the residence halls. Eco-Vols support Make Orange Green by offering information on environmental topics and activities, and by serving as a sounding board for environmental concerns in the halls. Eco-Vols are needed each semester and anyone living in a hall is welcome to participate with the program.

SPEAK (Students Promoting Environmental Action in Knoxville)

S.P.E.A.K. is UT’s student environmental organization. SPEAK meets every Monday at 8pm in the University Center. Membership is open to all.

This Student Government Association committee organizes campus clean ups, promotes litter awareness, and facilitates the campus adopt-a-spot program. Membership is open to all.

The CCE was organized as a standing committee at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) in August 1999. Its mission is to advise the Administration on institutional policies and behaviors that promote environmental stewardship at UTK. Members of the Committee, which include students, faculty and staff, are appointed by the UTK Chancellor.

This facility is a closed-loop campus biodiesel production plant. This student run facility transforms waste grease from dining facilities on campus into biodiesel that is used in campus facilities vehicles.

This graduate student organization seeks to connect its members to each other and to the broader environmental law community, inform them about environmental law and policy issues, and empower them to confront those issues thoughtfully and practically in their careers.
