9/08/08 Residence Hall Light Bulb Exchange
Students living in residence halls can exchange their standard (incandescent) light bulbs for free low-energy compact fluorescents.
When/Where: 5:00-7:00 p.m

Sept 10-11th at Laurel, Vol Hall, Clement

9/10/08 Lunch and Learn
Dennis Bernard from KUB provides practical tips for saving energy at home. Bring your lunch, drinks and dessert will be provided.
When/Where: 12:15-12:45 p.m. in University Center (UC) room 221.
9/10/08 Movie – A Crude Awakening
The East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition (ETCFC) and Make Orange Green host this film about global dependence on fossil fuels and the looming “peak oil” crisis. Discussion to follow. Free, but small donations to the ETCFC are appreciated.
When/Where: 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Alumni Memorial Building (ABM) room 32.

Mark Penland of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) presents Think Before You Throw: Disposing of Recyclables and Unusual Waste in Knox County. Bring your lunch, drinks and dessert will be provided.
When/Where: 12:15-12:45 p.m. in UC room 221.
9/11/08 Thermometer Exchange
This event will offer an opportunity for UT staff, students, and Knoxville citizens to replace used mercury thermometers with battery-operated digital thermometers, provided by the sponsoring organizations. The digital thermometers will be available to the public at no cost, in exchange for used mercury thermometers. Participants may bring in as many used thermometers to exchange as they wish from family, friends or neighbors while supplies last.
When/Where: 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the UC Brown Lounge.
9/11/08 Switch Your Thinking Campaign Kickoff
University administrators to announce the new campus conservation campaign, Switch Your Thinking.
When/Where: 7:15-8:00 p.m. across the street from Stokely Management Center, near the intersection of Volunteer Boulevard and Melrose Place.
